3.5k for 1st gear, then about 3k for every gear after that.

Yeah, our guages aren't super accurate. I was doing a long drive on I-71 North once and forgot to fill up at the last rest stop and ended up going 40 or so miles on NO BARS. It was kinda scary.

The most I ever got was 280miles out of my tank, I could have gotten a little more if I waited until my last bar disappeared, but I don't want to do this unless I am sure my fuel lines are indeed cleaned up. What is that product you mix with your gas that cleans your filter and fuel lines? They sell it at auto zone I think.

I get your milage with my Si, 270-ish with 2/3 bars left, usually. That's about 50/50 hwy/city. I really don't redline all that much. In fact, I barely see the upside of 4k, in all honesty.

I think some people lie when they say they get 30MPG on an Si... that's just unreal.

Next time I get 28mpg, I'll scan the receipt and my milage.

The Fuel Gauge Doesn't Start Decreasing Until You Used Up About 1.5 Gallon.

I have no doubts some do, however, getting well over 30MPG in an Si is VERY doable. Particularly if you have a live data scan tool for immediate feedback on your fuel use in a particular gear/speed.

Speaking from experience, Janizary?

eXe, I've had that too. Particularly if I flog the car at night, then start it up in the morning. My guess is the expansion and changing density of fuel. But, that's probably WAAAAAAAAAY off.

Yep. But I'm sick. Who else would repeatedly drive their Si back and forth from Vegas to Mesquite just to check MPG figures at various cruise speeds?

I wish I could do stuff like that. Still, when I get 26-27mpg, I'm quite happy -- I once did 23-ish. I was happy while driving, I can tell you that much.

Plus the first bar doesn't go away for like 5-8L or so while the others last like 2-2.5L
