funny things dealers have told you
today i was showing my mom the si sedan; even tho im already buying it, it wont be here til march.. while talking to the salesman, i told him one of my complaints is the 139 torque, and he told me "well when are you ever going to be going 120 mph?".. so i dont know wtf he was talking about, but i do know he doesnt know that the si would be slow if it had a 6500 redline, due to the missing torque..
oh, and i also told him im aware im going to have the 3rd gear problem, and he looked at me funny.. i said ya theres a tsb coming out for it soon, the problem is infamous, and he said "ok.." in a way thats like "if you say so".. dont you hate how you cant talk with salesman about cars? i dont know much about cars, and i still notice.. |

When I went to the dealer to test drive the car I eventually bought, there was a light rain coming down. The salesman that was all over me like a bad case of crabs, the moment I walked in the door asked me if he could help me today. I told him I was in the market for a new car, and wanted to test drive an Si. He told me, "They don't do test drives on HIGH PERFORMANCE VEHICLES when it's raining". I laughed, and said, " Well you must not sell too many cars". He "went to check with the manager", to see if I could take the car out, and finally came back 15 minutes later. He was a total ass to me the entire time, and really pissed me off, and I decided not to get the car from there.
Long story short, I shopped around, and couldn't get a better price anywhere else, so I went back to the first dealer, and asked to see the sales manager. We talked for a while, and I told him my story, and said I wanted the car, but from a different salesman. Problem solved. I ended up getting the car from a cool guy I had been talking to while jerkoff #1 made me wait 15 minutes to test drive the car. Sorry for the long story. |

![]() Oh yea, my salesman was my brother..needless to say i trusted what he was telling me and when people would be like have you heard anything about your car.. i would repeat what he told me.. now in hindsite i know everyone i told that to laughed at me behind my back. |

Haha damn some sales peeps can't be very ignorant about their job and trust me nothing is worst than that. Even worst is when they lie in your face thinking you don't know sh1t. I'm glad my sales person was nice, knowledgeable and funny. They made me wait so long, but didn't matter cuz he was explaining so many things to me, like how credit works and why insurance is so high. He even explained how vtec works and how its different from other cars and technology out there.

I've heard some crazy stupid shit from dealers.
My biggest peeve is when they don't know anything and have to ask (when its a very basic question that they should know IMO), or when they don't know what they're talking about but pretend to know and talk to you like you don't know anything. I would guess the majority of people who walk into a dealership don't know CRAP about hondas. It sucks cause uninformed buyers are the ones that get taken advantage of. The funniest thing I heard from a dealer was "The price is firm. You're talking about one of the hottest cars on the market right now." (speaking of a black Si coupe w/navi.) At first I was like ![]() Then I was like "he's right..." |

I got the same reaction at Sisley Honda yesterday, the guy told me hes never heard of the trany problems .... (ya right) and that the rev hang issue was not a problem, do ur research before u buy the car, go to 10 dealers if u have to. just find one that knows theres a trany problem.... |

When my girlfriend was looking at the new si i had to tell the salesman all that it could do and even my girlfriend knew more about the car than him. Also at nissan one salesman told me and my friends that the 350z was a 10 second car stock. and kia rios have a 0-60 time of 2 to 3 seconds |

I bought my 06 Si back in the first couple months of release. I had to drive 60 miles to get it, and i showed up and it already had the HFP aero kit on it(which wasnt to bad cuz i wanted it anyway). After falling in love with it i put a $500 deposit down and said i'll take it as is. They were all cool with that till i got home and they called me to say, "Ummm the sales woman forgot to tell you that this car has already been slated to receive the moonroof visor, fog lights, wheel locks, a trunk tray, pin stripes, and all season mats. We'll go ahead and put these on for you ASAP." I told them that i didnt want any of that to which their reply was, "son do you know how new car sales works? Once its been slated to receive parts we cant not install them". So i gave them a great response, "yes i know exactly how new car sales work, as soon as i put a deposit down the car is mine and cant be touched without my written approval." after a long arguement i won, and they had the balls to ask me if i be giving them an 5 out of 5 rating when Honda calls. HAHAHAHAHAH HELL NO
