My friend was told this by a Hyundai salesman last night while I gave him the evil eye, "We can have the interior done custom since it doesn't come in black. " He proceeds to do a vanna white along the glove box and passenger door panel of an '08 Elantra,"The seats will be reupholstered and he'll spraypaint these areas..."

Me," You'll spray paint?! You have got to be kidding me? Spray paint?! Punk kids who spend too much time on Ebay spray paint, not a dealership! Tell me you're j0king."

Salesman,"Well, he'll reupholster this too." Points to the squishy vinyl area of the door panel."

Me with arms crossed and a very sarcastic tone dripping from me" Oh and I guess all this lovely work will be covered by the warranty then?"

Him,"Yes one year to twelve months."

Me still being the bane of his working existance, "One year to twelve months, eh?"

Him, "yes."

Me to my friend, "Oh hell no. Run. Run now." I turn back to the salesman, "So you'll warranty it for a year but not for the 10 years of the car?"

Him,"Uh... no. Um... the upholsterer has their own warranty and ... well, this is just an estimate. I'd have to ask...."

*they wanted $600-700 to reupholster the seats with fabric, tint the windows and spraypaint the interior.*

I turn back to my friend, "If it doesn't have what you want, don't force it and definitely not for the price they are asking and definitely when they won't back it up. I guarantee, you're going to have this 'Custom job' fall apart in a year with the way they're talking about doing it."

She said she prefers the EX coupe. I sighed a sigh of relief.

We need a "Funniest thing a tech has ever told you thread."

That way I could share my 1 experience with a tech at my local dealership. It proves why I take my car 2 hours to get a simple oil change done.

ONe time there was a wobble on the front end (tires needed balancing) but first Honda wanted a tech to ride with me. The tech gets in and says, I shiz you not, "Oh, it's a Manual. Wow."

I own an Si. This was about 3 months ago and at a Honda dealership. These words were uttered from a Honda Tech's mouth. Tell me, what would you have done if you were me?

A salesman at Norm Reeves Honda told me that I couldn't test drive a civic si because first you had to do all the paperwork and buy the car before they'll let you test drive it. Dumb? Then it wouldn't be a god damn test drive!

I guess my mistake was telling him that I wasn't taking the car home that day.

And at a Nissan dealer, a sales manager told me that the Spec V was too expensive and that I should go for a Versa instead. He said, "It's a cute car." I told him it was ugly.

took my 06 LX AT in for oil change and to have a sound the trans made when shifting from P to D or from R to D..it's a metallic pinging type sound made at a dead stop foot on the brake..

the dealer says "Oh that's normal, nothing to worry about"..

i hope it's nothing to worry about for the life of the car and not at 100,001 miles

It actually is normal. The backing plates on the pads are hitting the calipers because they are smaller to allow expansion when heated. I made a thread about it and somebody posted a link from Honda that describes everything. I was worried about that noise too lol
