i don't know if any of you have experience with the silverado SS but it has a 6.0 with about 345 hp i think. i was looking at one and the guy helping me proceeded to tell me that his silverado had 285 and this one was about the same. and when we opened the doors he screamed "leather wow" like he had never seen it before. i love it when the don't know what they are talking about.

I happened to see a new EVO X at a local Mitsu dealer last week, so my friend and I turned around to check it out. The sales guy seemed knowledgeable, but a few things were out of whack..

A Ferrari 360 and a Lambo Gallardo drive by and we kind of gaze at them being the typical young exotic lovers we are, and the salesman proceeds to tell us that "the EVO would smoke those cars off the line. They are just all topend power, but this EVO has power down low." I think he forgot that those cars would own the EVO, especially the AWD Gallardo (which I'm thinking he didn't know was AWD).

He was telling us about the AWD system and how it can be biased 100% to the front or back... I'm pretty sure this isn't true but if it is, than I am a moron and that is hella cool.

I asked about the Ralliart and he told us that it would be a nice car for the price.. and if we wanted more power, to just throw a turbo on it. Not sure if he knows the new Ralliart is a detuned EVO...with a turbo lol.

I won't even start with random Honda sales guys when we went to check out the V6 Accord coupe and saw a Mugen in the back of the showroom.. This guy went on and on about it. We started responding and when we said "K20", his look changed and said "he has been out of the scene for a while" and wasn't sure what the K20 was.

Me: intentionally baiting the dealer to see if he was talking out his ass: "So, the SI needs premium, right?"

Him: "nah, the SI doesn't need premium. We run regular 87 on all of our cars here

I heard the same thing. In fact, he went on to say that a mechanic in the dealership says that the car will last longer running on 87. I think he meant well. He's just one of those true believers that cars don't need premium.

My dumb ass didn't read the manual or the gas door for a good 1500 miles and ran 87.

When I first bought the Si, I was in the car and asked the salesman if the Si had a built in cd-changer. He responded "No, why would you need 6 cd's when a cd can already hold like 300 songs?" Lol, not really car related but funny nonetheless. Another time with the same salesman on my Si, he attempted to open the Si driver side door but it was locked. (We all know that little knockback you get when you think the door is open but its actually locked) This guy stumbled like 4 feet back, and when he opened the door to get in, he slammed his head on the upper door frame!

I have gotten a mix of retarded and intelligent remarks from various dealers. Most of the stupid remarks were from used car dealers, and most of the ass salesmen were used car salesmen. Take for example, my buddy, who was shopping for a used economy car and stumbled across the Corolla S which is basically your standard corolla with a body kit. He told me the difference between the S and the LE was it had a racing engine from a lotus elise (it is a derivative of that engine...note: a derivative) and it has the same quarter mile as a 911 Carrera S (he told me around 13.2 seconds). When I was looking to purchase the Si, the salesman said there is no performance difference between the Mugen and the standard Si and it would not be worth my while putting in 8 grand for enhancements I can purchase for much cheaper on my own. It all depends on how old you are, and what kind of car you pull up in. My response to dumb ass dealers is to never come back.

too many to list, the Honda salesman in Jax, FL are all the same, simple and very easy to see through their BS...

"There's not that many '08 Si's being made"

"Got a guy driving down from Georgia tonight to look at the car, if you want it you're going to have to make a move on it today before he gets here."

"That $1200 dealer market value fee is something we can't remove and all Hondas have this fee" (I quickly corrected the idiot by pointing out that the Si and new Accord Coupe were the only cars in their lot with this fee on the sticker)

"It's supposed to pull like that to the right" (noticed a slight alignment issue during the test drive)

"The $500 optional security system is an actual car alarm"

I have 18 grand in my pocket (thats how much I paid including taxes) walked up to a salesman and pointed to the SI sitting in front and pointed and said I want that car right there I dont want to test drive it just give me the paper work and I will buy it... His response Uh ok let me go get another sales man or woman to help you with your buy. And I just sat there thinking either he is an idiot or he got scared that he didnt have to pull a pitch...
