Dealer Refund ?

SO this past Saturday I went to get my car from another dealer that had my car since this other dealer refused to even try and dealer trade for it and ignored all my phone calls. So I went to the dealer I had originally put a deposit down for a car in October and asked for my refund. I got my receipt for a refund for the $1000 deposit but it's still not in my bank account. I called the dealership last night and asked them what was up and they said it was because of MLK day and the banks weren't open. I do online banking and what not so I check it almost everyday.

But what gets me is usually it will have the money pending until the bank verifies it but there is no pending and here it is Tuesday and the money is still not in my account. I sent the bank an e-mail but I haven't gotten a response yet so in your opinion do you just think the bank is taking a long time or is the dealership who lost my business playing around with my money?

I'd say it's both the dealership and the bank. Everyone has to verify things. It's just a lengthy process. The holiday doesn't help.

yup, you went on a saturday to the dealer...that day doesnt count as a buisness day. sunday closed, monday closed.

so the refund process actually started today. if you dont have it by mid next week, be questioning. its wayyy to early to be doubtful.

they can take the money from your account in a matter of minutes, but it takes DAYS to get it back...its sucks.

its the bank... I know it's your money but be patient. If you don't see in in 4 days, then call.

It can take up to 10 business days, which does not include weekends, for the bank to refund your account. Patience is the key.
