shifting and clutching

has anyone noticed that when your popping the clutch too fast and trying to shift too fast while going from 0-60 or drag racing(at the track) that engine kind of bogs. it seems like when your doing firm shifts and feathering the clutch the car is a lot faster. has any noticed this? im saying this because i experience this with my si. -edited post-

its not when im launching its just if i try to get on the gas too fast after i shift a gear it seems like it bogs for some reason but if i ease into it and feather the clutch it seems like the car responds a lot better.

bogging in first? sounds like your VSA is to blame. ripping the clutch out and stomping the gas will apply as much power as possible, and that's asking for wheelspin in a FWD car like ours. the car probably sees the wheel spin and applies your VSA to compensate, bogging the car down. turn it off and try the run again, and let us know! :-)

You just need to slow the release on the clutch. I've noticed it too and I've been driving manuals for 17 years. This is the first car that I have to slip the clutch on when shifting quickly past 1st gear.

I was just gonna say that. Turn your VSA off then try it.

I must agree with the VSA issue. In the snow once I turned VSA off and was driving and even with it off it limits the car very much! I wish I could completly turn it off when I hit VSA off lol ....But its great for daily driving!
