Well if they sit on the lots long enough they will ease up on what they are willing to take for them.

I am looking at getting a Mugen this week. They have two, I want the one that has been on the showroom floor and not outside of course. Memorial Day sale price is $27,610 on the showroom model. Should I try and haggle it down a bit more? I was going to get a Civic SI Coupe in the same color in a couple months but once I added all the extras I wanted it came out around $25 so I figured the Mugen would be a better deal. after this week the price is probably going back up into the $28's. Any tips/suggestions?

Also, I want to add a moonroof visor, do you think I should also add the fog lights?

ETA: The dealership did let us test drive it yesterday, we took it on interstate and everything. I didn't push it much because last stick shift I drove was a Mustang GT 6 years ago. Also, I saw a few pages back someone was asking about insurance rates. I priced the Mugen to a SI Coupe and the Mugen was about $5-10 cheaper per month because it is a four door. Just like the Del Sol's were cheaper because it was a Civic Del Sol and it would be insured as a Civic.

Hard to say, you might be able to get it down a little. I got a new Accord V6 6 speed manual for about the same price. I guess they only put out a 1000 of them so they can be hard to find. If they are not flying off the lot and they have 2 of them I would work on the price. I don't think they sell to well so I would take my time and work out the best deal as possible.

exactly the same as a standard 2DR/4DR Si...only "Mugen" difference is the Mugen polished cat-back exhaust already present. everything else that comes w/ the Mugen Si is appearance and suspension-related. otherwise, whatever you can mod on an FA5/FG2 platform/k20, you can do equal on a Mugen Si.

Considering I AutoX on my BFG's they seem to be holding up fairly well. Although they get really greasy when they get hot so no telling how much wear I am actually getting.

Do you have the same one's that come on the Mugen? And when you say greasy, wouldn't that mean they are poor high performance summer tires?

I wonder why they chose these?

edit: Meaning KDW or KDW 2?

They got really good ratings on tirerack.

Thanks...

Frequent rotation is a big contributing factor for long life. I learned that with my Kuhmo SPT's.

They are the stock Mugen tires. Also I am running in Texas where the temps have been in the 90's and surface temps were really high. They got greasy when they overheated so I had to cool them off between runs. For just everyday driving and running in cooler temps (70's-80's) they are fantastic. Just for here they don't quite hold up in the higher temps. Actually on my 3rd run at the may AutoX it actually felt like I was driving on a greased pig, almost not traction at all. Temps were around 96-97 degrees and the asphault was hot enough that my shoes started to get mushy. No telling what the tire temps were.

Wow man... Now I can understand where you're coming from... I used to summer in DFW, TX with my Uncle... the heat there can be rediculous. I wish you could compare the Michelin summer tire performance in the same climate...
