Has anyone driven one? What do you think? How does the package work with the great FA5 as a foundation?

Most of these comments are only about the cost and aesthetics, what about the drive?

mine handles great. I can do the local clover leaf at 65 mph, kinda stupid, but she hangs nicely. Also set up a quick slalom and thats not a prob. However with the low pro tires you fell the bumps in the road.

edit:

gee just read threw some of the posts, theres alot of haters, and no I'm not a rich kid and no my parents didnt buy it for me.

but damn it looks sexy.

My dealership won't even let anybody sit in the car in the showroom. All the doors are locked.

So I went to the dealer to check out the new Accord coupe and found....

A Mugen Si!! Took me off guard. Friend and I went to check out the V6 Accord coupe, but they only had the one in the showroom and one in the lot, both AT. We were walking around and there it was... The Fiji Mugen chilling in the back. Not bad looking but not really my cup of tea.

Some random salesman came up and started trying to talk us up like he knew something about it. He said the aftermarket is GREAT on these cars and all the aesthetics, suspension, etc was done. All we needed was to mod the engine. We mentioned that the K20 was pretty mod friendly for the RSX-S, and that's when the salesman figured out he didn't really know wtf we were talking about and walked off.

We could have drove off with it for the low low price of...

$34,695!! Same price as the red S2K right next to it.

There is no way I would pay that kind of money for a civic! I kept looking at one but could never get past the price. Then I figured it someone would just steel it. Once I found the 08 Accord with V6 and 6 speed MT I forgot all about that car! You get a lot more car for less money with the Accord. The Accord is sooo much nicer on the inside and rides way nicer and is faster! All the times I have been there that same Mugen SI has been there I never even seen anyone looking at it. With that said I do think it is a cool car just overpriced and I liked the Accord better and it was only $28,894 OTD.

Yeah, I was just looking at a Mugen. They wanted a grand over sticker. I was like sure just hold on to it I'm sure you'll find some sucker to pay over sticker for it. I'll just go back next month (Feb), towards the end of the dolldrums of car sales and offer them a grand below sticker and I'm sure they'll bend over backwards to take it.

I would not even pay that. I would just go and get an Accord. Much nicer interior. Power and heated seats and mirrors. Hmm you can roll down all the windows and open sun roof with the remote. Comes standard with XM Radio. I could go on and on. No way would I pay more for a civic. I think the mugen will hold its value ok but it is not a car that everyone is willing to pay the price for so it might be a little hard to resell it. Then again I could be totally wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

Well did some calling to local dealers and they all have one. I found 5 within a 30 min radius of my home. So they arent selling like hotcakes like some have said. I think I'm going to back off the idea the more I think about it. That Accord does sound nice. I'll have to take a look at it. In the end I'll probably just keep my Si. It's not like I'm not happy with it. Just got caught up in the Mugen hype.

Well if you consider that I got my Accord EXL V6 6 speed MT in TW for $28,894 and all that I got with it and how much nicer it (IMO) I would either keep the si or go and check out the Accord. The Accord Coup like the one I have can be a little hard to get your hands on so you might have to do a little busy work to find one. If you have a SI coup they make for a good trade in. They are well liked and not many of them on the lots either.

so when we got the mugen into the dealership i work at we took it for a test drive.here is what i thought-
handling- i thought it felt a bit tighter in turns. it did feel a little bouncier over the bumps. i wasnt very impressed with that. but the tight feeling through the turns was pretty nice.
power- it was about the same as an si. just louder. which figures because there isnt muched changed there except for the muffler.
looks-i like a good body kit and wing but this just seemed over done for me, i think the hfp aero kit looks a lot better.
sound- i did like the sound of the muffler i am not going to lie. it did have a nice throaty sound to it.
my conclusion- for the extra 10 grand i would rather put it into a nice supercharger and suspension.
ben
oh and hi to all you out there im new the boards.
this place is awesome

I had a hard time finding the one I got. It was just unloaded off the truck. I like it quite a bit. I like that I don't have to down shift all the time. I actually have power in 6th and it rides much smoother for us older people. Don't get me wrong I still liked my SI and think it is a good car. The Accord is not as good on gas but I don't have to use the expensive fuel either which makes up for some.

i finally got to see the mugen Si for the first time in person this past weekend.
it was pretty nice really. I asked the owner how much..he said sticker!
i was like hot dayum! im satisfied with my FG2. but still wooooo!

the mugen si in my opinion should have had at least more engine modifications.
mugen headers, intake, and etc...

again my overall experience of the car, i hated the front end. =)
