Newbie Question...need a little help

Hey guys, I have a Taffy White Si Sedan and I love it. It's my first stick car. I've left the week behind where I worried if and when I would stall. I don't have to worry about that anymore. Now I'm concentrating on driving smoothly. I can do it okay for the most part EXCEPT when going from 1st to 2nd, because of the large drop on the tach. Do people step on the clutch a little while longer than usual here? Do you step on the gas a little more. A combination of both?? Just wondering if I can get some advice

Apply more power as you need it when brining the clutch out for 2nd gear, nice and smooth try to keep the rev's 2200+. You'll get the hang of it!

i have "designated" driving shoes, where i'll only wear certain pairs of shoes to drive, and bring the appropriate shoes to change into when i get to the destination, so yea i understand what ya mean.

as far as 1st to 2nd, just remember that smoothness is the key. do what you need to make it a smooth shift without riding the clutch (i.e. feather it). 1st gear is the most dangerous gear IMO, and once u master that, the rest of the gears are easy.

If you have a hard time using sandals use bare feet. But I usually drive with shoes on and sometimes I have extra shoes in my trunk or I put them in if I'm gonna be using uncomfortable shoes like dress shoes. Then I just switch shoes when I get to my destination.

I use nike SB dunks too sometimes. But I usually like to use my running shoes because it way lighter than the SB's.
