Bad day

Well, it starts out as me driving on the freeway this morning, merging from the left into another freeway. I have about 1 and half car length behind a suv, and we were all doing like 45 on 55 since it's rush hour and everyone is right next to either other. As the road merges into this 2 lane freeway that's becoming a 3 lane free way, I kind of saw the guys on my right doing the same speed as us on the merging lane, but I really need to get to the very right lane for my exit later. ThenI notice the suv in front of me is going faster, so I thought maybe change lanes later, but all the sudden out of corner of my right eye, the guy that was next to me to my right speeds up and cuts in really close, so I slow down a bit only to notice it's a GG coupe. I was kind of mad but thought maybe he was trying to get my attention and say hello. I thought oh well, let's see who's in it, so I change to the middle lane since he left his spot open, and caught up with him, only to see that he's a middle aged bald guy and as I was looking at him, he didn't even look at me. So now I'm like, well he was just trying to be an ass then lol. so whatever I change another lane and exited the freeway later on.

On my way home, it was raining pretty hard. Everyone was doing 50 on a 55 freeway, because the rain was so strong and periodically whites out and you couldn't see nothing beyond 10ft. So I'm mering from the left to this 2 lane freeway again but opposite side. I speeds up to 55 because no one is in front of me and I'm passing everyone on the left lane. I was gonna change to the middle lane once I'm far enough from the guy in the middle that I'm passing. all the sudden I get this guy swings in behind me fast, and starts to tail gate. I know I didn't do nothing to him because I just merged into this freeway, so I speed up a little to try to get clear faster, so I can change lane and let him off, but he gets even closer. I mean come on now, freaking raining like hell and you have to be an ass? I finally get cleared and changed to the middle lane, and he speeds off only to slow down once he passed me. There is no one in front of him and no one behind him and he starts to do 50 like everybody else... what the hell? I later passed him from the very right lane (he's still in the very left by himself) and tried to see who it is, but he had like limo tint, and I couldn't see no one.

Once I got home, I felt something is not right, and started to look at the front of my car. Only to notice that someone had made a new ding and 2 new scratches that's about 1 and a half inch a piece on my hood. It looked like someone dropped something heavy on the edge of my hood and scrapped off the paint to bare metal. I'm so pissed. Took out my scratch fix kit and started cleaning and priming... What a day...

That is one crazy day! Whenever I'm in weather like that I just want to get home ASAP! I'm in Cali, and no one here can drive at all when it rains!

On days like that, my friend "Jack and Coke" helps to calm my nerves! Oh, and if you ever find the guy that messed up your car, you should hit him with the empty bottle !

I don't know what kind of car, because he was so close I couldn't even see his headlight. Then when I looked at him before I exited, all I noticed was the tint and didn't try to look at what car, but pretty sure it was just a beater though lol.

Any pics? so do you think some road debris came up and hit it? If so that would be a comprehensive claim= cheaper deductible......

Well, being a noob at repairing the paint, I followed the instruction on the scratch fix and primed the spots then proceeded to use the sandpaper in the kit to sand it flat. The second day I used the paint tub with the little brush to fix my paint only to realize that the area was so big, using a brush will leave streak marks all over the place, so I'm like darn it, I need a spray can type.

TOday, I was scheduled for the recall and an oil change, so I ask the tech to give a quote on paint repair from the bodyshop (my dealer actually has a nice bodyshop!) When I picked up my car, and saw the sheet I almost passed out. They quoted me 661 bucks for 1 and a half inch spot X 2 and few little rock chip spots. I was like, I could get a new hood with that money?! So being cheap that I am, I went to autozone and tried to find a spray can for our paint only to be told that they don't have one. But the guy told me to check out another paint shop that he says can match my paint by using a computer camera and put that into a little spray can for like 6 bucks. So I'm gonna check it tomorrow when they open up at 9. I'll let you guys know how it went.

I doubt it was something on the road. I'd guess it would be a fist size rock to give me a dent and took off the paint to bare metal. If so I should of heard it or saw it, but none. I don't want to deal with insurrance, I just wanted to be cheap and learn how I'm supposed to fix stuff like this myself.
