I am speechless....

I don't know how to feel or what to say right now. I called my dealer today and ask for a definet day of when I am going to get my 08 civic Si that i ordered on August 25.

This is basiclly the dialog between me and the manager.

me:Hi, may i speak with tracy(sales)?
Operator: sorry he is not in the office right now, may i put you with someone else?
Me:Actually may i speak with joe(manager) then?
Operator: Yea sure!

Joe: Hi, how can i help you
Me: Hi, I orderd an 08 civic si coupe white with tracy on the 25 of august and he say is 4 to 6 week, this is the 5th week i am wondering where is my car and can i at least have a vin number?

Joe:Order? Oh you mean that white si? 25? nono, tracy just told me about that car 2 weeks ago, we just ordered two weeks ago.

Me:.....what? when am i going to get my car?

Joe: oh em....mid november early december?

me:excuse me? I ordered the car at the end of August!

Joe: well tracy just told me 2 weeks ago...

Me:so i can forget having my car for next week?

Joe: Uh-huh

Me: Please tell Tracy I am very PISSED OFF AND THE DEAL FALL THROUGH! BYE!

Hang up.....

3hour later...

Tracy: Hey man, sorry about that i am looking all over the continental US for your car there are 20 being produce from 9~13

Me

kay? so when will i know for sure?

Tracy: we will do a dealer trade, i will tell u by noon tmr!

Me:.....i will call...bye

I called another dealer, and aparently the car wasn't even resigsterd on the ordered list!!! the only White coupe for mid west for the next 2 month will be build on the 9! I don't know what to say anymore...Went to test drove a GTi and Nissan sentra se-r spec-v earlier tonight, i have a feeling i will end up in a GTi....don't know what to feel at all right now...so pissed a the dealer...

(btw, Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-v sux

call the regional or national honda office. explain the situation. sometimes people with more power can accomplish more.

Hope you get it, I had a similar dealer. Ordered it late June and didnt get it untill late Aug. I was tired of waiting.

ive got GG, nighthawks a nice one, taffy is decent, rr is unique and so is habi, figi is unique and sleek, and ASM is a solid color... tough choices man.

I'm in the same situation just not quite as bad. I ordered my 08 FBP coupe about a month ago and was told I would have by 09-30. Just got a call Monday and was told it was built and would take about 5 days to be delivered. I got a DD so it's not a huge deal but still a little upsetting as I was hoping to have it this week.

I can't imagine what it would be like to wait as long as you are waiting though....I would go nuts!

that sucks.. sounds like a lack of communication between salesman and manager . I do know ,which I'm sure they already told u ,but normally the new Si's (like 08 models) don't hit dealers until late Nov. or early Dec. and remember only 15,000 Si's built in a year of the 300,000 civics and Honda only paints certain colors at a time . also depending on the size of volume dealer you made your order w/ they may only be able to order a few at a time. most ,if not all civics r built in Canada and take time 2 come in depending on where you r at..... i hope it comes in soon and be patient it is well worth the wait. have your salesman comp u some free oil changes and free new car details for the trouble and not staying on top of things.. good things come to those who wait........

i know that several people that i took deposits on hd to wait several months 4 their Si's to come in and the navi,s forgettaboutit- even less r produced .

and we r the #1 dealership in Louisiana and we only receive Sis in cycles some months 2-4 and others 1-2 and sometimes 0 ... again limited production

I'm pretty sure honda doesn't even do specific customer orders .... Dealerships get what honda decides to send them. When the salesman figured out that all you wanted was a white SI coupe and he couldn't come up with one, he just lied to you and hoped that he could track one down in the next few weeks. In the meantime, he knew you wouldn't be buying a different car from anybody else because your dream ride was "on order." Point goes to the salesman.

You just need patience. It took me almost 3 months to find my car. Just relax. Wait until the 08's come out and have cbhonda do a dealer search for you. He's awesome for giving us that information.
