I don't remember when the vtec kicks in on the 2.2, but I believe it's sooner than 6k. I loved it when I test drove one. I liked it better than the ap1 we had.

Isn't there a 2.7 stroker kit now? My buddy (skylinegtr06's cousin) has an AP1 that he's dying to get it for...LOL.

I think you dropped your crack pipe.

In all seriousness though. Stock the top of the line Prelude from back in the 91 body style did the 1/4 in mid 16's and 0-60 in high 8's-low 9's. I dont care how much you stripped this thing out you must have been racing e36 M3's running on 4 cylinders with quadriplegics driving them.

e36's m3s were all L6's. either a 3.0L or a 3.2L both making 240HP with the latter making more tq. ( the 3.2L E36's actually is very similar to the 343HP S54, just less high strung making ~290HP in europe and watered dwon to 240 in NA).

Your point is what? I know they are L6's. That is why I said they must have been running on 4 cylinders instead of 6 (missfiring etc) thus making them run terrible enough for a 91 prelude to beat them.

damn if i had the 5th gen prelude, i would be sooo happy. But up against a K20 civic or k20 rsx in a race, the prelude would lose because of it's fat ass.

I'd still love to have one though. The styling is great, and as far as being up-to-date, I don't really care about all that. It's still a Honda and would stand the test of time.

one day...
