3 tickets in one day. help please

Hi, I'm not new here but i don't post very much. I just had to ask a question thats been bothering me for a while now.

Well about 3 months ago I was pulled over and given three tickets. One was for blocking the box, not yielding to pedestrians and the other was for not signaling to change lanes. I already pleaded guilty to blocking the box but I know there were no pedestrians and I didn't even change lanes, because I was in one lane going around a stopped bus.

A month after I pleaded not guilty to the last two tickets i was given my court date for 8/13/07 and a description of my tickets. One of the descriptions was correct when it said "not yielding to pedestrians" but the other said "no more one sticker". Now this is what I don't understand. It should have said "not signaling to change lanes", my question is, can I get this ticket thrown out because of a mistake in the description??

P.S. I have already called a few traffic attorneys and none of them know what "no more one sticker" means and won't tell me if I can get it thrown out.

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance.

I doubt you can get anything thrown out for a bad description. I tried to fight a ticket one time because the cop put down the wrong color for my car. I told the judge the officer mixed up my car with another one that past me but he didn't buy it.

blocking the box means that you are within the square tha teh intersections makes....like sitting under a light when it is red...usually happens in a city when there is too much traffic to comletely pull out of the intersection.

to the OP...call the precinct and ask what "no more one sticker" refers to...and chances are no lawyer will give you advice until you sign the case up with them...no lawyer will tel you what to do unless they get money.

dam so I basically have no chance in getting that ticket thrown out? This sucks since I'm not good at speaking to people with authority. Maybe I'll try to hire a lawyer. Does anyone know any good ones that don't cost too much in the Queens, New York area?

lol...why cant you speak to people of authority?

by you saying that makes you seem very childish and immature..almost like you have no self control. it also implies that maybe you were rude to the officer that gave you the tickets.

why dont you suck it up and learn how to talk properly to people and save yourself some money by not going to a lawyer. there is a good chance you could end up paying more for a lawyer than you would for those tickets.

i just meant that i just get nervous talking to people like officers or in this case a judge, but i guess you're right i should suck it up. I'm going to have to sooner or later. Thanks

Also I wasn't rude to the cop. He just asked me if i knew why he pulled me over and i replied by saying "yea for blocking the box sorry". Little did I know he was going to give me 3 tickets.

it would seem on the surface that he gave you three tickets to up the fines...probably all legit but you'd think he'd ticket for the most serious and warn on the other two. Only reason I can think of with three tickets is $$$$.

seems like a typo, they'll look up the ticket in court and fix it, they'll prolly drop both tickets down to one fine and hopefully to a non-moving violation.

Maybe the cop hates "rice" cookers.

NEVER admit even if you knew why the officer stop you, by you saying that the officer doesn't have to do anything more other then give you the ticket and more if he can. ALWAYS say "no I don't know, may I ask why"; now this your chances to fight it at the court are greater, let's say about 50%.

o ok. i didnt read through it. i only read the descriptions for the 3 tickets. well in any case. NYC cops must have nothing to do. i've never heard of anything gettin a ticket for blocking a box. the signals i can understand, in south FL thats not enforced at all, and the neither is the pedestrians thing.

good luck with the tickets.

I think I got all those tickets at once so the cop could fill his monthly quota.

When you talk to authorities just remember: They can't kill you if you just talk to them. And that's pretty much the worst thing that can happen to you. So go to court and remember, things can't get worse than they already are. Judge wont eat you. And also rememeber, they are humans just like you or your dad. So bull$hit away. Maybe you win. Can't have someone else fight your battles forever.
