i-Vtec in the Ody!

Gees, I never pay very close attention to my EXL Ody w/ RES and Nav engine. This thing has the 3.5 i-Vtec in it. I'm wondering why it got some zip in it.

If this thing can fit in the Si Sedan, it would be a true racer. But I am very happy with the 2.0 i-Vtec!

It's a regular vtec. "i" is there because in V6 i-vtec 3 cylinders are deactivated when cruising on the highway.

I own it for a year, and I never pay attention to it. But it does have quite a bit of zip in it when I am getting in/out the fast lane!

It has a lot of potential, and it can look like this:

every new honda has vtec, and it's been that way for a long while.

however, only a few, ie the si, rsx, s2000, ( the sport cars) have the vtec that you would think about when you think of vtec. Meaning, the aggressive switchover of cams once you hit a certain rpm.

The rest of the honda line up has vtec as well, but for a different purpose. It is used for fuel economy, and as such, there is no vtec switchover at 6000rpm(or whatever it is set at).

Exactly, it's still i-VTEC, but a different, less aggresive kind.

I've joked quite a few times about swapping out an oddy engine into a hatch.. Don't they have close to srt4 specs? Too bad ajp doesn't make an oddy turbo kit. LOL.

Yeah but the SRT-4 is a turbo with 2 less cylinders and 1.1 liters smaller...
