Handling on 2006 EX - in ice/snow

Hi all, new member here.

Has anyone else had any difficulting handling their 2006 EX (4dr) in ice/snow conditions? I found last Sunday that my car handles very poorly on these types of roads. I was only able to go about 55 to 60 km per hour (30-35 mph). It felt like the back end of my car was very loose on the highway (i.e. spin out of control). I decided to do a test, when I got home I hopped into my 98 Neon and drove down the same road. This posed no problems, I was able to go 105 km per hour (65 mph). Still running factory rubber as there is is only 15,000 km on the car.

BTW I have owned a 99 Si, 02 Si, 04 Se and 05 Si, all had factory tires and NEVER had this problem!!

I have spoken with 2 other owners of the same (06 Civic) and both have experienced the same.

Let me know what you all think.

Thanks,

ScottyJ

well EX's suspension is kinda "loose" and tires don't have the bestest grip.

I had mine through last winter and it was perfectly fine. just got stuck in a ditch

I WAS TRYING TO TURN AROUNDDDD

Snow Tires

I bought some steel wheels and a set of Pirelli winter carving snow tires. Much better than stock.
