Might help if we knew the breakdown of you taxes, fees, and what the 'pro' package costs. That way we'd know what you are 'actually' paying for the car itself. So many folks as "Is this a good deal OTD" seemingly missing the fact that tax rates vary from state to state, and fees can vary dramatically from dealer to dealer.

^^^^What he said. I live in SoCal too and tax on my Si was ruthless...8.5% in LA county. I think the price is really not that bad at all with taxes, licensing, etc...

Tax alone at 8.25% is about $1600. Licensing...say 300?
Base cost of Si is aroung 21k (If I remember correct) So 21k+1600+400=22990.00

That's not THAT bad of a price, for here in Cali at least. Taxes here are around 2k once you pass 20k msrp, I have no idea what the pro package is so in my eyes you're paying $1800 for it so that would hafta be the deciding factor. Since you said OTD I assume that's after taxes, but if that's before I'd jsut go elsewhere as that is awfully close to RSX-S territory already.

I really don't know. MY GUESS for S. California...it might be a decent deal but its on a '06 without VSA which has raised the 2007 MSRP by 3% to $21,685 including shipping. So I have no idea what your figure represents...TTL etc.
I've ordered my 2007 Habi Si last Saturday with $500 deposit and no matter where I went (for a month) the best deal I could get was, mudguards and wheel locks all for $22,583 TOTAL, and that INCLUDES TTL. Right now I don't have a VIN number on a PO to give my credit union because mine will be built later this month...I MIGHT get it 2rd or 3th week in October. That's the salesman's guess as of today. The auto trim shop, best in town, will put on the 3M film, front, side mirrors, rocker panels, lenses, and 3M window tint for $500. They did great work on my wifes Accord two years ago, but I didn't have the side mirrors protected and they need the film too. The car tax rate here is 3% and lic/title/"handling" runs about $170. So my total cost will be $23,083. On a '07 with the 3% increased price. Your price might be good for California. I don't think I got much of a deal, but a lot of places won't sell Si's without the "dealer add-ons" included. It reminds me of the two dog track gamblers talking. "How did you do today?" "I did GREAT! I broke even." I paid sticker pretty much. (NEVER IN 30 years have I ever NOT GOTTEN A GREAT DEAL PRICE WISE. Hurts my ego. At least I got the car I wanted and will enjoy it knowing how hard they are to come by for most people.) I honestly don't know anyone or read anything suggesting anyone is getting below sticker on any Si. If someone has you are one lucky guy or gal...and if it were not for the color and the styling I would probably still be looking at alternatives. (One Honda dealer threw out "any 2007 Accord Coupe on the lot for $100 over invoice". That was an ON THE LOT openner and I might have gotten it $500-750 below if I had seriously sat down to buy. It was tempting. If there had been a EX V6 I just might have done it.....but the wife has a Accord EX V6 already, I want the color and so on. |
