5 min away from a new r18

at my local dealership today, i negotiated the dealer down to 18,750 for a gg ex, with mud guards and wheel locks (a little pricey imo but theres a mark-up in my area). So my dad and I get the loan taken care of, and the insurance all ready, and when we go in to sign the actual contract, the sales manager changes his mind and tries to add an extra $600 onto the total without telling us. So i walked out. I sat at that dealership for 4 hours, and they still had to try to screw me over. I then had to waste even more time holding the check, and cancelling the insurance policy change. I'm still in awe that they were that close to selling a car, and still got greedy. I'm going first thing in the morning to a few other dealerships, and I'll have purchased one by the end of the day. Who has an ex coupe, and what'd u pay for it? I thought i was being pretty fair, being that my total (not including tax, tag, and title), was more than $1,000 over invoice. What did other ex coupe owners pay?

I hear there is a huge demand for the R18 models especially the sedan. People are paying well over sticker too. That is a shady way to run business though and would call Honda corp office and complain.
FYI I paid 18400 for my EX sedan Auto in April.

$17,910...something like that for my GG EX auto sedan, non-navi. Came with carpet floor mats (I think all EXs do anyway) and wheel locks (all cars at the dealership came with wheel locks). No other accessories. This was back at the beginning of April. The price included destination charges. With tax, title, and license the out the door price was around $19,700. If you say the destination charge is $550, I basically got the car at invoice. I purchased it through the dealership's internet dealer by getting a quote via Edmunds.com.

$19,200 for my GG EX Coupe in the Chicagoland are. The dealer wouldn't budge and just kept repeating that it's motor trends car of the year. I wanted to tell him where to shove it really bad, but held back because I wanted the car since I saw the debut at the Chicago auto show

But we talked them into giving us $8,700 for my trade-in. An 02 civic EX Sedan with about $1000 needed in minor repairs. (bumper cover and few other minor things)

I'd say we did ok.

god DAMN! Thats only $400 more than I paid for my LX with a 5 spd. Then again, this was some time ago, the dealers are probably more willing to negotiate now...

You guys must live in the mid west or east coast... out here in the Northwest those cars are going for msrp and above... some dealerships are marking them up 3k. The lowest you could hope for is 4-5 hundred below retail... i didnt think that it was worth the headache so I just paid msrp for mine.

In my opinion, people who spent 20,000+ on an EX should have just gotten the Si. It would be around the same price, but for a better car.
