Little off topic, what I really want is a 95 to 2000 civic si in that pretty blue color! Man when I read that sport compact mag in 95, I wanted one ever since. I have no idea I never got one. Oh well maybe when the ss is paid off.

Thanks,

Exactly. I wish they weren't b/c I hate gm. I don't know what it is about them. I just don't like them. Yes, I've owned an 01 ss camaro, but I don't know what it is now. They're starting to appeal to me, but I still don't like them all the way. Looks still have some to be desired; performance is there; we will see about reliability; I can't stand the ugly bowtie emblem. They should just change that and have it as a symbol of them reinventing their lineup and overall brand.

Pretty sure it was a 95 si. I wanted that car bad Sticker was $17k. I remember going to the dealership and having performace parts on display was cool. Then a guy pulls up in a yellow type r that he was trading in on an rx7. Man memory on these cars started to come back to me. You know its funny how I get giddy over an econo box car instead of a muscle car. IDK just what I was into back then/now.
The performance upgrades for these cars back then was amazing.

The only car I drove with vtech was a 96/97 acura integra gs-r. Man that was a fun car. Red one at a dealership had to drive it.
Well back to that cobalt, lol...
Oh just think it was cars like that that made gm build the cobalt to what it is today. People should respect that!

The cobalt in the ss models are really a step ahead. Yeah they have their flaws but overall, best gm car I drove/owned.

I respectfully disagree. I have driven both Cobalts and Aveo: the quality is quite dissimilar. The Aveo is horrid. The Cobalt may not be the prettiest or well-thought out interior in the world, but it is quite solid and quiet. Infinitely more so than the Aveo.

The Civic is much better designed. It's layout more intuitive and driver-oriented. They actually put great thought into it. However, while the materials are great looking and to the touch, mine has not held up well at all. There have been numerous rattles, plastic scratching over next to nothing, the door panel clips have broken multiple times, and the awesome cloth looks almost three times its age despite my meticulous care and concern of the car.

It's apples to oranges. Honda does better executing cars, but they aren't free of the problems that plague domestic ones, I don't think.

I would for sure remove the rear wing first thing if I bought one. Big rear wings a la Evo 8 or 2004-2007 STI's are out. And at least on those cars, they looked proportional/cool.
Actually, the up-level wing is an option now. The standard one is the low level one.

I wish I could afford the new camaro though. That would be one of my favorites to own.

As far as I know the SI was not in production in 96-98. Unless is a very but very special edition.

You mean VTEC right?

It was probably the 99-00 Civic Si.

haha sorry, might have been those years. I remember it was a red one on the front cover. They had a blue one later it was labeled "weight reduction". they stripped out carpeting, back seats, ac, etc. It has been along time ago.

No Si in 95. The top they had in 95 was an EX. I had one and traded it in for the 2000 Blue Si. Yes the blue Sis were produced in for the 99-2000 year models.

Then the next car I read all about was the mitsu evo IV. There was a white one in sport compct car. 1/4 mile on dirt/pavement. Then the Evo 8 came out, too exp for me though. Sorry for thread jacking, it should say "Cars J drooled over" Thanks for not bashing me for driving a cobalt/reminiscencing...

All this talk about the MS3 and Cobalt SS really have me thinking. I really do like both cars as well as the R32, but I am still hoping to go back to Subaru and/or Toyota after the Si only because they did not have the Saturn Astra turbocharged.

Only reason I'm not driving a Saturn Astra right now is because it doesn't have a moonroof on the 3-door or an AUX jack.

It looks okay too many shapes going on i just cant take it serious as a sports car it has no heritage just a beefed up 3 series i just happen to love the interior.

Same thing with the Cobalt yea the new 1's are fast but you just wont get that feel you get in the cockpit of the SI and the driver involvement its so exciting.

The Civic SI started this tuner world we see today and it still sets the standard for high reving, driving excitement that wont be found elsewhere for the money.

Chevy has been making great strides to try and break into "our bracket" and I think this is a good mile stone for them. I mean I can get off topic and talk about my friend's Celebrity edition blue station wagon that just would not die even with original battery and what ever at 300K miles. I mean that is reliability at its best! But I can not wait to see the New Camaro coming out is going to be the best compared to that challenger that dodge put out.

But yea I still see what everyone is saying.. as soon as I got into a Honda civic I was all about it and would not stop driving it to get into another car.
