You have an Si. So, basically:
1. Use a wrench or something to hold that locking nut on the bottom of your shift knob. 2. Use that wrench to loosen the locking nut. 2a. If I remember right, I used the wrench on the locking nut and twisted on the shift knob.3. Unscrew shift knob. 4. Take out locking nut, unless you're going to use it with the shift knob you are putting on. 5. Profit Lame, I got assed out by another SoCal member. Lame.

So the knob is threaded it's not just the nut holding it in place some how? I am thinking of swapping the factory Si knob for a factory knob out of a RX-7 FC (Series 5) and wasn't sure it was going to fit. If it works I have a friend that's good with leather that would cover the old 7 knob in leather from an 08 Si shift boot.
