How too for putting your car on jack stands

Hi All,

I have been doing some research for an HFP suspension swap on my 07 Si Coupe. I have very minimal experience with mods like this. With that said I have been PMing those in the know and picking their brains. There are many great DIY posts for suspension upgrades on the board. The only thing missing in them is how to lift the car properly and where the jacks should be placed. One of the members I contacted Armand aka MonkeyConQueso gave me the following information on how to properly put my car on jacks. I found it to be such good information that I thought I would share it with everyone. Hopefully this will help those like me that have the desire to do the work but don't have a single wit regarding the "how to of it all".

Here is the info

Lift Points!

Thankfully, lifting your car pre-suspension drop is easier that post, since you don't need a low-profile jack, although I would highly recommend getting one for later if you plan on getting a fully adjustable coil-over set, doing oil changes, or any other maintenance. You will want to use jack stands on the jack points under your vehicle, just fronts when you are working on the front, and just rears, when you are working on the rear. Don't have all 4 points lifted, since that is, in and of itself, a hazard.

If you look under your vehicle, there's "tabs" right in front of the rear tires, and right behind the front tires. That's the jack point of the vehicle. Now, the problem is that you can't use a jack to lift the vehicle from that point, and then put the jack stand at that point, since the jack is taking up that space. What i use is the front cross member to lift the front of the vehicle, and the rear cross member for the rear. How to recognize the cross member, is that it will be RIGHT next to the sway bar, front and rear. Once you jack up the car from the middle of the cross member, put jack stands under both sides of the front/rear jack points, and you're good to go. To set her down, just reverse the procedure.

Thanks Armand for being the big cheese

I will be posting another DIY with pics of the HFP suspension swap in about a month. I will post more good tips from the big cheese it that as well.

Hope this helps
