Gas Pedal Removal - How?

I'm about ready to give up. I found the little button on the bottem rear of the pedal, but no matter what I do, the pedal will not come off the carpet.

Does anyone know how that clip works? Thanks.

I ended up just lifting the carpet and not removing it. Never did figure out how to remove the gas pedal.

you have to drill out the studs.
