AC filter replacement

My honda dealer a while back told me i needed to replace my A/C filter, and i'm not sure if its the same thing as the cabin filter that BCJ wrote DIY on.

could some one provide me with a part number and a site to order it from with reasonable pricing, my dealer wanted i think 89 bucks to replace mine. i'm browsing around on college hills honda now but i just want to be sure.

TIA.

its about 35 bucks before shipping.

if some one could verify it for me it would be great, otherwise i'll be calling the dealer tomorrow

That is right, and by the way this will take you probably 3 minutes to install.

You will have to open your golve box

Then push the two clips, after that you will see the A/C / Polem Filter. Push the clips remove the ld filster and then place the new one back and that should be it.

Make sure you empty yourgolve box.

my daughter is treated for leukemia, we replace the filter every month.

so for even more saving...

go to your favorite home center, buy the largest home filter you can find 20x25 or 20x30 (usually cheaper per square inch)

cut to size, I can usually get twelve filters for $14 or so

put in the cabin air filter tray.

I also put in a charcoal/carbon odors filter (also sold at home centers) in addition to the pleated paper filter.

the 1 inch high fits perfectly.

the last filter I got had a metal (aluminum?) diamond grid as a support on the back, poked myself several times while cutting it.

Old post!

The AC filter and cabin filter are the same. College Hills Honda can save you a few bucks. The 7th Gen Accords use the same exact filter, and for some reason it is a lot cheaper than the 8th Gen Civic filter. Who knows??

Genuine Honda Accessories, News, and Information from College Hills Honda

Part# 17220-RNA-A00
Your Price: $14.30

Not $14 for each filter, $14 for the 20" filter from which you can make 12 filters, just over one Dollar each.
