Navigation Updates

How does the Civic Navigation work? Specifically:

1. How do you load the NAV DVD (isn't the cd/radio behind the Nav screen just for a single compact disc)?
2. What purpose does that PC card (PCMCIA) slot serve? I read you're not supposed to put in a PC Card micro drive (so no 4Gb of MP3s).
3. Does the CD player play MP3? If so will the MP3 tags appear on the screen?
4. The NAV screen is touch sensitive? Does NAV have speech recognition and turn by turn directions?
5. How do you get updates? I heard the update DVDs for the Acura are $200.
6. Can you make a dupe of the DVD (even if it'll fit onto a dual layer DVD)?
7. Is there a pdf of the Navigation user manual?
8. How's the iPod music link? Do you have all the functionality of the iPod or does it only see the playlists? If you connect a Video or Photo iPod will the NAV screen display the album cover?

4. Yes. Yes and yes.
5. Yearly updates. $180.
6. No one has tried.
7. No one has posted one.
8. I don't have it, but EVERYONE says it sucks. No, it won't display the album cover.

iPod

Crap! I added the iPod music link as an option. How does it suck? I'll keep my expectations low, it'll still be better using a Monster FM modulator/recharger (the static & hunting for a dead frequency out of 8 is a pain), and the mini plug that goes from the iPod headphone jack to the radio's input jack reminds me of the ghetto setup I have in my car.

Thanks for the info!

Its a pain in the ass to if you try to find a specific song. You would go through all 500 of yours songs just to hear that 1 you want. I kinda wished i never got it but oh wellz i still use it

Oh crap, I practically filled up my iPod (crap loads of songs to sift through.. that'll be my co-pilot/wife's headache since she's the iPod DJ while we're on the road).

Thanks for the input!!!
