Modified Upper/Lower Airbox + Modified MAF

I plan on cutting the veins out of the upper part of the stock airbox and sanding it down to a smooth finish on the upper and lower part of the upper airbox. I also plan on doing X's modified MAF to allow more airflow. Personally I dont think there is a need for the CRV tube X used in his intake so Im going to just use the stock one. I will also be using P2R TBG/TBS/TBG. For the lower part of the intake (the part thats behind the foglight. I plan on cutting the front off of it so it will kind of be like a RAM but not really just alows air to flow into it easyer... I plan on doing this within the next week or two I will try to get a dyno before and after for you guys. By the way this will be on a stock Si. I also have a friend with a moded Si e/h/i I will also try to get him to dyno with his current intake and with mine for you guys aswell. I will try to update this as much as possible and once Im finshed I will def make this a DIY if the gains are sufficent enough. Let me guys know what you think about my idea... Im trying to get the most hp/tq while spending the least amount of $ (like the xintake $300) with mine you would have to spend around 80-90 for the P2R goodies thats about it. I dont want to use the K&N filter because its oiled so Im also just going to stick with the stock one. I also have a version 2 in my head but want to see how this one works out then we will see about the v2.

I hope it works out this can give you kinda the idea im going for

Im looking to get around the same gains as the X intake the whole thing Im looking to gain is a bit more tq and a perfect air to fuel ratio I have not dought it will make hp but the tq and afr is what Im hoping for. What I believe makes hp/tq/afr for the xintake is 70% the MAF 10% P2R Goodies and the other 20% is the apexi filter that Im not going to be using but with my setup you should have cooler air going in aswell so Im hoping that will help me out a little bit.

Do we have any other filters other than the K&N? I would like to get an aftermart one that is less restrictive but not an oiled filter like the K&N.

I mean I do have another plan if the gains arnt what I want them to be with the v1 because I did think of the filter but I figured with the P2R goodies and the MAF I would get better than stock... I didnt really want to show anyone my v2 until I did my v1 but I guess I can show yall my idea for v2

Its kinda like a poor mans power chamber I guess you could say basically the same as v1 minus the the lower part is replaced with an apexi filter. and the removal of the stock filter.

i like V1 more... but i don't think u will see true gains from it on the dyno seeing as it's kinda hard to replicate the ram effect on the dyno...

u will see gains from just adding the P2R stuff that's a fact... have u done a baseline dyno??

My vote is for V1, I just removed the resonator last weekend. I'm already runing a K&N drop-in filter in the unmodded stock intake box. I'm very tempted to attempt your V1 myself because unless I do try this the OEM resonator will never go back on my car.

Basically what I wanted to do was just chop the front of it off (nearest to the foglight/or foglight slot) and sand the inside out like the upper airbox... to make the air move more smoothly... But again I would highly suggest doing the MAF mod aswell because I believe thats going to be 70-80% of the hp/tq gain and keep the afr nice... also get the P2R goodies they work for a fact...

The CRV airbox is kinda like the RSX airbox so no it wont fit in our car... It would be nice to find a larger box but I dont feel like searching and searching so Im just going to go with the stock box. Sanding and sanding and some more sanding... lol will give you a little more room in the airbox...

What you want is the rubber tube that goes from the CRV intake box to the TB. The CRV tube is bigger so it has more volume.
