id take the emblem off, clean it very well with soap and water, scuff it with a scuff pad or high grit sand paper like 400 grit. get either grey or black primer and spray about 2 or 3 light coats. once that is dry, spray about 3 light coats of black paint. once that is dry, spray about 3 light coats of clear. id give it a day or two to really set in and dry. then pop it back on. hows that? it cant be that hard

so 400 grit or 1000?, is there any kind of special paint that should be used for the emblem?

1000 would suffice. No special paint, just whatever is at the local parts store. They will prob have duplicolor.

For the H on the grill, on the sedans, do you simply just push from the back of the black place holder. I was going to paint mine soon but was wondering if it was safe to take off, or is it possible that it would break?

also, do we HAVE to take out the whole bumper or is there anyway to get it off without having to?

for the back emblem (trunk), does it come off like the civic emblem where its just stuck w/ an adhesive?

Or is it like the old style where it sort of 'clips' into place and the emblem pops out?

I scuffed with 150 grit and it came out perfect. It is all I had laying around and I did not feel like going to the store.
Make sure it is clean and use a light touch with the sandpaper.
Make sure you clean every bit of the emblem with alcohol to get all the dust off and just as importantly to get all the oils off. Wear gloves when handling, or better yet - I attached needle nose locking pliers to one of the pins on the back.
Then prime, prime, prime, paint, paint, paint, clear, clear, clear, reattach to vehicle...
