dose the shift knob screw on lower than the stock one? I only ask cuz my buddy's mom bought a mugen and he used her vin number 2 order the mugen shift knob and its threads are up in the knob a little 2 reduce the lenght of the throw. it fells really nice shifting with that knob because of the extra weight and it sits a little bit lower than the stock knob. dose the JDM one do that as well? cuz i really don't fell like paying 160 for a shift knob like he did but i want the lower efect of it.

You can make it lower or higher, but mine is situated at least an inch lower than stock, if not more, making for a very short throw feel.

I have a mugen knob and w/o the flange nut it sits verrrry low.
I also have the type r boot and installed it. However the flange nut adds another half and inche and if it is installed upside down to hold the shit boot up, it cant screw down all the way and adds another half inch.
Are you SURE its suppose to but upside down??? It does not screw down all the way and adds too much height.

I don't have the Mugen knob, which may be different. I don't think it's supposed to be upside-down, but mine works perfectly with it aligned that way. Mine doesn't sit as low as maybe it could, but it's low enough and lower than OEM for sure.

I just e-mailed Corsport and told them BTRobertson had sent me and someone replied via their iPhone and said they didn't have them. Lame. lol I really wanted to deal with them; oh well guess I'll have to find it elsewhere.

Actually, a lot of JDM stuff is out of stock everywhere right now. CorSport couldn't even find me the red "H" Type-R badges and the red valve cover seems to be out of stock, too. Sorry man. They'll be back.

So I just put the new boot and knob in my car, it all went really smooth, except no matter where I start to threat the shiftknob, it always has the gear numbers pointing to the right, basically pointing at the passenger side dash....is it missing threads? am I missing something? I ended up just moving the bolt up underneath it and tightening it down a bit til it worked, just curious if anyone else had this problem

Yeah thats what I ended up doing and got the knob sitting the right way, for some reason that extra 1 mm down was really bothering me for some haha, but its great and I definately like the feel of it much better than stock, it just looks so much cleaner, if anyone is going to get it I would suggest getting the CTR shift boot as well it just fits perfect night and tight with no gaps
