hookin up 4ch amp w/ stock hu?

i was planing to hooh a amp to my hi's with the stock hu and i don't want to cut the wires on the factory harness has any1 done this? i think that u can do it where the harness comes from the hu to where it go factory amp to a LOC then rca to amp then speaker wires from amp to a amp bypass to get the feed to speakers without rewiring the whole car. can someone tell me if they think it will work?

I think there was a DIY somewhere on the site for that, you can do a search, I think the output from the premium stereo is low level so you won't need an LOC if you're bypassing the factory amp

Actually the factory HU outputs on the EX and Si aren't speaker level or line level (RCA) they're actually differential balanced low level outputs, so you cant use a regular LOC, you need a differential balanced LOC i believe theres one by peripherial vendetta. You could also get a 4ch amp that has differential balanced inputs, however there are few models that have that

if you stop at best buy, they have all the harnesses you need so that you won't have to splice up the wires.

you know the wire to comes into the stock sub? well basically what they did was, they cut that wire so disconnect the stock sub, then ran a wire from the wire they just cut to the amp. from the amp to the sub. then just powered everything thru the amp/battery. i'll try to get pictures tomorrow if i have time.
