Do it using an LOC , tapping from the rear speakers.
So I did some sound deadening with dynamat, put some on the rear deck on the metal, and below the plastic on the rear deck, and it made it soo much nicer now. The metal rear deck does not vibrate anymore. Still some rattles here and there, will perfect it soon. If you crank up the volume, the music overwhelms the rattles Heard of people stuffing tissue paper, will use foam in such places. Im sick of spending time in my garage now. My neighbours think im nuts. |

see this
![]() This is what i used, a cheap one, but there are may good ones out there. Do some research, many guys here will know better. LOC: Line out converter , helps to convert normal speaker outputs to RCA to an amp. Use t-taps to tap into factory speakers, and connect those to the LOC, and then use RCA cables to connect your amp to the LOC. Speakerwires -> LOC -> RCA -> AMP -> Woofer Battery -> Fuse -> AMP -> Ground Fuse Box (Amp #35) -> AMP (For Remote Amp turn on when car is turned on) Get an Amplifier connection kit from someplace and everything will be there. Most amps have this input called "Remote in", which is to turn the amp on when there is a signal to it. Do not confuse this with the +12v Power input which goes to the battery via an inline fuse. Amplifier Installation Guide So you got to connect that to any power source in the car which will turn on only when the ignition is on, otherwise, if you connect it to a point which is always on, the amp will always be on and drain the battery. You connect it along with the Fuse, in the top prong of Fuse #35 (please check the fuse guide to be sure). Its very simple, just pull the fuse out, and push the wire in the top prong along with the fuse. Connect the other end to the "remote on" input of the amp. This is the fuse for the radio, which gets a signal only when the ignition is turned on. Thus your amp comes on only when the ignition is on. Some guys connect it to different points, sometimes tap it into the cigarette lighter module or an airbag module , but the radio one feels the safest. |

Great DIY, I swapped out my stock sub too, but I need to add some sound deadener now, I didn't have to remove my rear deck because the Si sedan grill just pops off, but for the sound deadening I'll have to end up removing it.
Another sub/amp install |

Yeah ive seen your DIY, very clean install...sometimes i wish i had a sedan for many reasons....i love kicker subs, they look sweet too. Maybe you should mod it such that the sub is visible all the time....which will also reduce rattles. |
