XM Ready?
Hi All,
I have tried endless searches for this on the site, and I have my owner's manual, right next to me here and I haven't been able to get an answer. I have a 06 Si and it does say XM ready on my radio. I am not able to get the input to switch over to XM/Aux. I press that button and nothing happens. I have used an IPOD and I see the input automatically switches to aux when the cable is inserted. However, I am thinking about ordering XM and wanted to see how I would be able to do so. In the Owner's Manual it states on (pg. 125 for reference), "If your XM Radio has expired or you purchased the vehicle from a previous owner (which I did), you can listen to a sampling of broadcasts available on XM Satellite Radio. With the ignition switch in the ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II) position, push the power/volume knob to turn on the audio system and press the XM Radio button. A variety of music types and styles will play." Well, I know the only channel I should get is the standard start up channel, but it seems I can't even switch the input to XM. Am I missing something? Do I need an additional component to allow the XM to work? Thanks for your help! |
