DIY: Easy Low Beam Install [Super White Halogens]
Well, this is pretty much for all those people who are reluctant to jack up the car, remove the wheel, and take out all those plugs just to replace 2 bulbs... the way my dad and I did it was much easier, and only required removing a few components.
PIAA Super White Halogens Step 1: Remove coolant bottle on the drivers side in the engine bay. First, by uncapping the bottle and taking off the cap along with the black hose (There is no need to disconnect hose from cap, just separate the hose from the actual bottle). Then, you can pull the bottle straight up and out. ![]() Step 2: Next, remove the top neck portion of the windshield wiper fluid bottle on the passenger side. The only hard part was removing the black plug, which required a flathead and some prying. Then just wiggle the windshield fluid out [pulls right out]. ![]() This shows the anchor [which was probably the second hardest part of the install... behind wiggling the neck out] ![]() This shows the neck of the windshield wiper fluid bottle being removed. ![]() Now, there should be room to get to both light bulbs. Step 3: Disconnect the wiring from the bulb. Pinch the white plastic and pull straight down. Make sure on the passenger side, you do not put pressure on the ABS lines. Step 4: If you are standing facing the car, turn the bulbs clockwise 45 degrees approx. and the bulbs will be loose for you to pull out. Careful not to drop it and not touch the actual glass of the bulb. Step 5: Replace stock bulbs with the aftermarket bulbs of your choice. Reconnect everything in reverse order and you're done! Now you can with cool lights.![]() Do this at your own risk as these parts are brittle! |
