great DIY just did it and the leds are working for now! Might have to do the third one but am just glad the map lights are working.

Ugh...I tried using a lighter and pliers and ended up messing up big time. I just ordered a new bulb from superbrightleds again...hopefully I won't get another dud.

Done! What was so hard with superbrights not doing that in the first place?!

I noticed people were busting out lighters for this. Maybe I was a lucky one, but they came off rather simply. I used a wallpaper scraper than took no more than one minute per side.



Just leveraged in with a corner of the scraper until it lifts... then use the flat end to keep raising it on all sides. Simple.
