o6 civic si filter

Anyone remove the filter yet?

The filter is located on the passenger side, back of the engine. I was unable to get to it from the bottom as it was blocked off by a metal frame and other stuffs. Looks like I have to remove it from the top. But in order to remove the filter, the plastic frame near the windshield must come off.

Any suggestion?

You can get to it from the bottom, it is just not fun. Special wrenches are a good idea as well. I used a filter cap socket and a angle wrench to get at mine.

which side do you go in from the bottom?

looks like there is a small opening on the passenger side wheel well. I might have to take the wheel of to get to it.

I've never worked on my car before but would like to start changing my own oil and light maintenance. How are you guys going under your cars? Would an item like this be adequate?

I don't know about your EX. I cannot use the ramp for the SI. The car had to be jack up in order to lower the cv joint so I could get to the filter.

I have a set of Rhino ramps and really like them. You can buy them at Pep Boys or Walmart for the same $25 and save the shipping charges.
