Did you remember to disconnect your positive wire from the battery and let it sit for 5 minutes then reconnect? If you didn't do that yet, you should. Don't forget to grab your code for the radio too, so when you start your car, you can type in the code to the radio and make it work again.

At mid-range (3500 to 5000 RPM) I can occationally hear the raspiness too, usually only in higher gears at lower speeds. Fortunately after a tank or so your Si will settle down once the computer adjusts to the new increased airflow, then you'll notice the raspiness less.

I am pleased that after a month of use through a wide range of ambient temperatures (25 degrees to 68 degrees), those initial vibrations have become unnoticable now that everything has settled. Although when I clean the filter for the first time, I too will definitely be doing SiCop's dampening trick -- hopefully by then K&N will have a retro-fit available.

What kind of milage are yall getting? Every time I fill up, I tell myself that I'm gonna take it easy on this tank -- but then I get on a straight away and the urge to take it into VTEC takes over

K&N makes a great SRI -- definitely recommend to all!

According to the K&N website it estimates 10.2 HP @ 6950 RPMS.
Another thing, are you sure this product works with the 07 models b/c when i search on the K&N website for 07 products only a replacement filter and oil filter appears?

also, quick question: you always take the positive wire off first and put the negative wire back on last...right??

great DIY. i have a typhoon in my 02 civic ex. the only problem with the SI is that it looks like the intake is so deep in there. since k&n recommends cleaning it once a year, it would be a pain to have to take out the pipe and the shield just to clean the filter.

some of you are probably thinking "It's only once a year" but it looks like it would be a lot of work. i hope it isnt that way cuz i'd love to have another fipk for my si. comments?

You will LOVE it. I absolutlely LOVE mine. Just make 100% sure you DO NOT tighten the 'L' bracket down AT ALL. Leave it VERY loose. After you get everything aligned, you can start tightening it up after its installed.

DrR10n - After 3-months the filter has stayed pretty clean, but then again I keep my engine bay so clean you could eat off of it.. Once the whole assembly has been in your engine bay for a while, un-installing and re-installing for service is alot easier for two reasons, A. you know what to expect and B. all the rubber hoses have a 'memory'.

Absolutely no problems, no rattles, and it still sounds fantastic -- best aftermarket upgrade I've done. Added plus, averaging 27.5 to 28 MPG too which isn't bad for a car with a 23 city / 32 hwy EPA sticker.

Enjoy!
sweet! good to know. are you actually getting BETTER mileage with the FIPK?
