The RDX has no trunk release button, and pictures of both remotes are posted earlier in this thread

Got RDX Key Fob To Work On 07 Civic

Since I work For Valley Honda I had some spare time today to try this out. I went to Acura and purchased two keys. A TL and RDX, I cut the RDX with the key machine and then took it and the HDS out to the car.

The hard part was following the directions after multiple attempts to program the key I finally did it. The secret was telling the HDS ALL KEYS LOST. This erases all the keys and fobs and then reprograms all the keys and fobs. Since I left my valet key at home I have to redo this process again so make sure you have all the keys with you when you do this. There is a step during the key relearn process that tells you to click the lock buttons of all the key fobs.

After doing the relearn process all keys and key fobs work with car. The only sucky thing is the no trunk button. . . which I'm working on trying to figure out. Good Luck

ummmm, why would you do it that way? I mean why did you select "all keys lost" option on the hds?

I tried all other options an none of them would allow the fob to operate.

The standard key on . . . press lock button . . .key off repeated 4 times the lock twice does not apply to the 06+ civics they have Type 6 immobilizer not type 5 therefore the only way to program the key fob is with the HDS.

funny thing is that I re-programed a key just yesterday for a 06 civic ex and programed the key less entry with out using the HDS.

Ps- type 5 (or t5) immobilizer keys have a separate remote for keyless entry. T5 have been used on 01-05 civics.

So you have the unlock/lock/panic buttons working on the RDX remote on your car? When they programed my remote they got the immobilizer working, but the remote wouldnt take the program after several attempts.

What method did you use to program the key without using HDS.

I have another spare civic key to hack up and either transplant the electronics or actually desolder the components and move them

Im not sure how that answers my question as to how you managed to reprogram the keyless without using the HDS.

You dont need the hds to program the keyless entry(key FOB/keys with remotes built into them). There is a special procedure you have to follow in order for the FOB(keyless entry/remote) to work.

Have you tried it with the TL key? or is it only going to work with the RDX key

Well,...
I am in Thailand and got the problem when I was programming the US Civic Ex key to my CIVIC'07. The key can start the engine and run (immo is good) but the remote is not work (The same problem with ethlar on RDX).

So I was wondering that if "FA1user" or anyone could give me a suggestion on following point.

* Does the US key use the different frequency from my key?
* Is the correct procedure important to program the key?

FA1user; It would be nice and useful if you could explain the detailed procedure to program the key with HDS so I could bring it to the dealer.

Thank you
