so when next model for RDX, they'll have same immobilizer as our civics and we shove our key and chip in?
Or am I simplifying things too much? lol

I would have figured since the RDX was all new they would have used the newest electronics like is in the civic but i was wrong, who knows where we will see another honda/acura with a flip key and will work on civics

I meant 2008 RDX...should be equipped with "upgraded" immobilizer?

Hey ethlar,
I've found in TSB of both key Civic06 and RDX07. It was stated in TSB that both keys are T6 immobilizer with letter "V" stamped on the key shank. Seem to me that RDX key might work.
The P/N of RDX key is 35111-STK-305.
The P/N of Civic key is 35111-SVA-305 or 306.
What do you think ethlar?

Sorry to bump an old thread but i have an update.

After a few PMs and Emails back and forth with Chok, and cause i just really wanted this to work, i decided to give this another go. I went out and bought another RDX key ($61 this time) and went out the Saratoga Honda where they only charge $22 dollars to cut and program keys.

They were able to cut the key no problem, and the HDS system programmed the Immobilizer chip without issue, but the Keyless entry did not take the programing.

They key operates all lock cylinders in the car and runs the car, but the keyless remote doesnt work.

Im looking into this now and seeing if theres a way to make the keyless work and i will let you all know if i find anything.

it looks like it might come down to desoldering a component or two off of a already programmed key and transplanting it onto the RDX key to get the keyless to work
