Or do you have to take the RDX key, have it cut, and swap out the internals from the civic key you already have?

How does this differ from the MDX key? Is it the MDX key that works?
The only internal part I can see that needs to be swap is the immobilizer. Then just get the key cut and program,

Does the Panic button work on either of these?
MDX = I doubt it. New MDX keys are Tier 5.

RDX= Yes it will work. Just no trunk feature.

Anyone with an 8th gen Accord want to post up their key? I am curious what they look like.

The MDX does work.
RDX flip key
There are no internal parts that you swap to get the key to work for the Acura keys. Have the dealership CUT & RE-PROGRAM IMMOBILIZER, and/or PROGRAM KEYLESS ENTRY.

The 8th gen Accord uses the same keys as us, not sure if it's Type 5 or 6:

Are you serious?!

I dunno how I skip the whole MDX part in this thread. I reread the whole thread, it seems though it is still unconfirmed for a working MDX key w/ power gate trunk to work. But I'll be looking more into this.

So just to clarify, does the RDX key work on all 8th Gen Civics (2006 -2008)?

Just the trunk release doesn't work?

i tried soldering the transponder closer to the tip where the little slot for it is.. i ended up frying something and trashed the entire project. sold the case to someone on here.

good luck tho!

reading this whole thread pissed me off it's so confusing! so many different ppl trying and updates were coming from 50 million ppl at once anyways can some one clarify the complete processes for both LX and EX SI owners? from what I got from reading the whole thing is that if you have an 08 LX then you should go get the MDX key with 2 buttons and have the dealership CUT and program the transponder, then go home and do the LOCK/UNLOCK procedure shown in the youtube video? simple yes or no from someone that knows what they're talking about will do

thanks!

Yes, but I don't think anyone with an '08 has tried this...you can be the first one.

I have an 07 si and use my mdx key everyday with no problems.Millcitytech posted that he tried the mdx key with the trunk release but it didn't work so i opted to use the 2 button. The part number for the key i used was 35111-stx-315.The dealership should know how to program the key, just make sure you turn off the memory seat option. It's written on the back but none of us saw it when they tried to program mine.Av,did you ever get yours to work?

The tech i talk to at honda said you could try it a different way.Do the turn to the on position/press the lock, you may have to do this 6-7 times instead of 4,and your locks will not cycle but it might work.Worth a shot.
