Sw0ggD0gg Motor mounts, no waiting for poly to dry! under $20 !

I was assembling a speaker enclosure for my home theatre and was using this hot glue to do tac assembly before using fasteners.

Before anyone says "Hot glue is gonna melt with engine temps blah blah..."
this is contruction adhesivise. i noticed while using it it gets very hard and dries quickly. So I thought WTH. I got out my glue gun and started melting the sticks, it takes a higher temp to melt this glue that your mount areas will ever see. I have had the Boombas and sold them once before. I wish I saw this earlier. I filled my top dog bone and my lower mount full of this compound and it was rock solid within five minutes. I slapped em in and beat the balls off my car for quiet a while. No cracks no breaks, nothing, i let the car sit in a heated garage for a while afterward and there was definateley no sign of melting. Here are some Pics and the product package.

NOTE METHOD OF APPLCIATION:

Fill with one layer at a time. Fill a layer, let become hard. Fill again. Let harden. Repeat blahbalh. This will let the outer most layer have its own area to become soft because of outside elements. It wont contact the other layers because of the surface tact of the other layers. Thanks again

Sorry for teh iphone pics.

Hated On?: Yes
Hell... If it holds up to the temps then I say you found a good deal!

It was a great thought, but I don't think this will work in the winter if salt affects it, with the salt in the roads and melted ice mixed in.

I have no doubt that this would work better than stock mounts, but I'm not sure how long these will hold up keeping the same stiffness you know?

The mounts never reach over 80-90 degress except air temps... i ran my car like a beotch and got under there after running it in a heated garage. The mounts are warm not hot. plus if the surface even gets hot enough to melt, you litterly have a brick of adhesive its a solid brick. its not goin anywhere.

^^ fair enough. Remember that it also softens as it heats up. Most of the stuff we're using doesn't soften as it gets to the temps it will run every day.
