DIY Steering wheel badge with Silicone
I wasn't happy with the adhesive on the emblem because it was already starting to show a gap after the fist day so I decided to silicone it on.
![]() Depending on how long your emblem has been on you may need a hair dryer or heat gun to loosen the emblem. I didn't need it so I just stuck the tip of a knife in a gap and pried the emblem up. I got this silicone from HD for like 5 bucks. Apply the silicone over the stock emblem. Be sure to cover it, but not fill it so much that the silicone will squish out when you but your emblem back on. ![]() Center you emblem and apply it to the silicone. I had to hold the emblem in place for a few minutes while the silicone set up so that I didn't get any gaps around the edges. The silicone cures fully in about 24 hours but is pretty much set in 45min-1hr depending on air temp. |
