DIY Install for KBCarstuff LED Halo Projector Headlights (56k go make a sammich)

I didn't see a DIY like this for the site sponsor brand LED Halo projector headlight install, so I thought I'd make one. If it's a duplicate, go ahead and delete it.

06-07 HONDA CIVIC 4DR Xenon Headlight, Performance Headlight, Racing Headlight, Aftermarket headlight, projector headlamp, Euro Headlights, halo, lo Headlights, Angel Eye Head Lights, LED, HALO
These are the Headlights I purchased from our site sponsor Xenon Depot (KB Car Stuff)

Okey dokey, I'll start off with the assumption that you all know how to take off the front bumper. Do that...

You should be here:

Note the duct tape holding on the foam bumper thingy...don't break off the top tabs like I did

Now grab that 10mm socket and start here:

It's handy to have a REALLY long extension for your socket...10" roughly.

Now, normally this part would be attached to the headlight housing (pic is upside down view)...but some douchebag in an SUV decided to back up into my headlight and broke it clean off:

In your case, just use the 10mm socket and take the metal brace off the housing.

Unplug all 3 lights (High beams, Low beams, turn signals) and set the stock headlight aside.

And now for the replacement headlights:

Flip it upside down and re-use the stock turn signal bulb/plug in the new headlight.

Plug the three major plugs back in, and make sure everything works so far:

Now the fun part. You can wire the LED's and Halo's however you'd like, but I wired both to the turn signal power for ease and they'll always be on from parking light setting up to high beam setting. SAY NO TO DRL's lol

Stick the blue wire connector on the black turn signal wire, as shown, then connect the two BLACK wires from the Halo's and LED's to that. Clamp down, done. Do the same for the WHITE wires from LED/Halo to the RED wire on the turn signal. (Not shown...easy to figure out)

Again, test to make sure they work how you'd like:

If they work, put it all back together and rinse and repeat for the other side!

Your finished product should look similar to this:

Edit: Now I just have to figure out how to aim them...they're kinda pointing out like.... \_/ sorta instead of |_|.

Nice. I just ordered an HID kit from this company and am thinking the headlights might be next. How does the light output/visibility between these and factory compare?

Well, stock bulb vs. stock bulb, the projectors are much cleaner. If you go driving at night, sure what's in front of you is "lit", but with these, just driving around the block to take pics, the light was much more focused. Nothing above the car was lit, but the ground in front was clearly visible. You can see the "cut-off" in the pic above.

Overall, I'm very impressed and happy with the purchase.

I have an email in to XenonDepot/KB Car Stuff right now asking that very question. Their site says "10% off if you buy the headlights AND HID kit" and "get the full effect by using HID's" ... but there is a sticker on the unit itself that says "do not use HID's"...so who knows.

That and there was NO instructions/information/specs that came with these (in english). So everything I did, I had to figure out on my own lol.

I'll post what information I get as I get it. As for pics, I'll get some soon. It's been really crappy weather lately (you can see the piles of snow in the pics above) so a day shot right now wouldn't do them justice.

why would there be a sticker saying "Do Not Use HIDs?"

HIDs burn at a lower temperature than regular bulbs...

I know this is late in the game but just some food for thought, yes hids do operate at a lower temperature and voltage than stock headlight, but the sticker is referring to using hids with the wiring provided. The wiring on those headlights isnt sufficient enough to withstand the voltage peak when hids "fire up" so if you buy an hid kit, just ditch the wiring that came with the headlight housing and rig up the ones that came with the hid kit.

Aahh, indeed. Thank you for the info.

However, I ended up returning these headlights due to the fact that they just wouldn't aim straight. Always like a "V" and that's just annoying, lighting up the sidewalk and oncoming traffic, not in front of my car.

Oh well, I now have HID's in the stock housings and couldn't be happier!

Would there be any reason why they don't have these for 2009 4/dr?

Yep, I ultimately had to return them. Not worth the money, unfortunately

No clue, never got that far with these things. I just went back to stock and have loved my HID kit in the stock housings ever since.
