OEM Fogs, I want the fogs to turn on with parking lights

I am wondering how to get the fogs to turn on with parking lights. Currently the OEM fogs turn on with the headlights only. I wish to have the fogs turn on with the parking lights and stay on with parking lights and headlights on.

Thanks for your wisdom,

Hotwheels

So far, the only option we have is to buy one of the cheaper knockoff fog kits and replace our OEM harness with the included harness. The tradeoff is that you will lose the foglight indicator light in the display.

I have the K2 foglight kit, it turns on with the parking lights. You will need to get a non-oem witing harness. BTW how does the indicator light look like, can you take a quick pic? Thanks.

My initial Idea was to figure out how to switch the 12v source from the headlights to the Parking lights. thinking that the fogs will then turn on with the parking lights 12v source

thats precisely how you do it. You wire it to the parking light fuse (sorry i havent investigated which fuse it is yet in our car) but i have done it it other cars. What the previous posts said are accurate...the OEM harnass will not do this. You basically have to wire it to the car like it was an aftermarket fog kit.

It totally can be done but make sure you know what you are doing because you can easily make a small mistake that will cause a short circuit sometime down the road and F up your electronics.

*if you have NO knowledge of wiring lights id recommend taking it to a custom "car stereo type shop" and telling them how you want it and pay the $ for installation and the peace of mind.

O.k. So here are my question's:

Which wire in the OEM Fog harness is from the headlights?
( so I can cut this wire)

Which wire connects 12v to the parking lights?
(Then attach cut wire to this new one)

Or if there is a schematic on here somewhere,
please point me to the right direction----->

I thank you for your help!

splice the wire that turn on the fog lights and use the pin that this guy use for his courtsey lights and it will turn on the way you want.

it can be done with OEM fogs, my dealer did it for me without me having any knowledge of it. my fogs r only off when headlight switches r totally off. it's on when parking light (I) r on and when night driving headlights r on (II). dunno how they did it on my 07 tho. but i'm glad my dealer did that for me since it took them the longest time to put in fogs for a 07 canadian si (no vsa).

here is a really crude diagram of how to wire up foglights to turn on with your parking lights. i spent a whole minute on it so sorry about the quality but i think it should get the idea across, some people are visual.

basically youre using the parking light 12 volt source to activate the relay giving the foglights 12 volt power from the battery.
you can add a switch and fuse if you want to.

i plan on doing this when i get my fogs so ill probably do a write up on the wiring part

Am I the only one to have the fogs turn off when in high beams??

Thx!

No, they're supposed to turn off. If you're using high beams, there should be no fog, so hence the fog lights turning off (they ARE for fog).

The law mandates that only 4 forward-aiming lights be on at any given time anyhow.

Yea, my harness wasn't even close, but it wasn't brain surgery to figure out how to wire it! The trade off for no dash indicator was well worth it, my kit only cost me $100.00 [shipping included]

Cute drawing! I originally asked the question about have the fogs on with just the parking lights...I know enough to have the power come from the 12v parking light wire side, but what I am looking for is someone to say,

"you take (insert color of wire) from (location) and cut it, and hook (insert color of wire) to (location)...

that is what I am looking for.
