Angry Broken Right-Side Mirror! How to fix?

Let me start by expressing my love for the most informative site for 2006+2007 civics on the web!

So I was driving down interstate I 240 outside of Memphis, and a few generations old red mustange scraps up against my car. We get off at next exit and I inspect the body panel, wheel, and door. Nothing was marked in the least bit so we part.

During the ride home I noticed my right side mirror vibrating abnormaly. The motor functions still work perfectly, but I noticed once inside my garage at home that part of the mirror's casing was hanging out! The entire mirror housing is loose now.

You guys know where I should start to fix this?

P.S. Ill have pics up later tonight or tomorow.

Same thing happened to me, someone nailed my car in a parking lot. What happenes is that 3 screws that hold the mirror on are connected to a plastic bracket. Once some pressure is applied to the mirror the front screws brakes off with a part of the plastic bracket. What i did was bought some 2 part epoxy and glued it back together. I remember this happing to someone else one here, they bought a new mirror.

Yeah it feels like the screws were either stripped or whatever they were ancored to was ripped off.

You said you used epoxy? I wouldnt mind using it, but I can't get to the under part of the mirror attatchment. The front of the mirror, where the casing forms a triangle is jetting out about 1 inch and I am afraid to pull it farther out and risk causing more damage.

Just pull out the mirror. Take off the interior part on the door its held on with a clip then you can get at the 3 screws. I have the service manual so it tells you how to do it. If I can remember I bring the manual into work an scan the pagers for the mirror removal.

Easy fix. Just pull the plastic cover off the inside of the door behind the mirrir. There is 2 nuts i believe, then look in the weather stripping, there is a plastic cover over the third nut, remove that and squeeze the plastic clip that goes through the door that the wiring harness attaches to. Then obviously remove the wiring harness. To replace do the same steps in reverse. The plastic cover I was able to remove with my fingers, you might need a screwdriver. Easiest repair possible. Dont be scared
