Last night I was checking out the woot-off at woot.com and saw a Dremel, and without any foresight, grabbed it (since I need one for the sidemarker DIY, and since who doesn't have a rotary tool, c'mon!).
Turns out it's a OSCILLATING TOOL instead of a Rotary tool! ![]() Multi-Max? / Model: Multi-Max ![]() But honestly, how different is this going to be to use to cut metal over a rotary tool? Could it still work? And if not, is this at least worth having around the house for other projects? I did get it for $55 instead of the $100-120 it sells for, so I at least got a deal and can probably turn it around for the same price on eBay or something. Lastly, since I guess I'm in the market for a rotary tool now, any suggestions? I thought for some reason this was the high-end rotary Dremel, but it turns out it doesn't cost much more than this oscillating tool anyways, so I'm thinking of trading up to that. Honestly, I haven't FAIL'd this hard in a long time. But maybe there's some light at the end of the tunnel? Who knew Dremel made something other than rotary tools??
