Droid does-connect to usb in 09 civic
FIGURED OUT something pretty cool. I have an 09 civic si and you guys know that they come with a USB ADAPTER for connecting IPOD and Flash drives for playing music. So I connected my new DROID via the usb micro cable an BAM it works like a charm. I can control my music folders and everything. Just a helpful hint if anyone was wondering about purchasing a Droid. Simply plug the USB micro cable in and then use the USB mount feature on the phone and that's it.
I also had a palm pre and it worked as well!! Good to know. Last edited by brennon77; 11-16-2009 at 01:51 PM. |

I don't think they have USB adapters standard; However, if they do, I'm sure you could. But my 07 did not have the USB adapter in the console. But if you have a USB capable receiver installed, I'm sure it would work. Droid storage is flash based 16gb.

lol known this since the day it came out. good information for everyone else though.
I used it all the time, but I've found it easier to use the AUX and control the music from the UI on the actual phone. |

Works on the Eris too. iMusic FTW.
I am not familiar with the 09-2010 HU setup. Can that be added to our 06-08 vehicles? I would like to have the HU read the songs or be able to scroll through playlists, from the HU or Steering. |

i've tried it and this information is depending on which stereo package you have. It will work but you will still have sync issues. I've heard that the droid is coming out with a new firmware update to fix some of these issues such as bluetooth and usb connection, however, its up to the stock system to even consider of reading the phone.

with the usb function can you control the tracks via steering wheel?
if so i might look into getting an usb drive installed in my 08. i like the aux function and will keep it for other times but i find it dangerous to scroll on my phone while driving |

I just got a Droid Eris over the weekend and added a bunch of music from Itunes. I just did a drag and drop into the memory card.
The songs play fine on my phone, but only some of the songs seem to be working in my card. Many of the files come up as "unplayable". Anyone else having this problem? Is it possible that I need to split up the songs into several files to make it more managable? Right now I have just one file w/ about 5.6gb of music. |
