^yeah. I have always wanted to do this mod because I'm cheap lol and wanted free power haha. But I'm also a worrywort and even though SD weather is never below 65, I shied away. I could really use the extra cold air too with my SRI. But, I do have the AccessPort so for now I'll listen to Cobb.

gl. be cool if someone did do a dyno comparo with our car.

Yea however I think that this mod alone will not net any real power gains but paired with P2R TB spacer + Gaskets and Intake Manifold Gasket I can see how that would drop Intake Air temperatures for longer periods of time instead of power being lost after the motor heats up and heats everything else up. That might net some power gains.

Engine heat heating everything up is why people at the track turn their cars off and push their cars all the way till they are almost at staging before they turn their cars on cause sitting at idle will heat up the entire engine bay. (including intake pipe/ manifold/ Throttle body)

It is also track proven that cold air helps with better times too. When people get their best 1/4 mile times 1/8 mile times it's always when it's coldest. So cold air and cold intake air temps must have something to do with that. That's just why i did this mod cause i'm also doing IMG and TB spacer/gaskets and I want my intake air temps low for better 1/8 mile times ^^

yeah I got the IMG and was about to do this as well at the same time, but I don't know now. I wonder which is more beneficial and more dangerous, this vs. hood spacers. Now that I can read my intake temperature real time with the AP it's driving me crazy knowing how much heat it's soaking up. at least I live in SD, anywhere else and it'd be so much uglier

edit: cool another san diegan. you sellin anything? lol, everybody's in "socal"=LA haha

Yes the way that he did it is that he bypassed the coolant from a different location i wasn't able to see exactly what he did there but i couldn't find that location so i just did it my way haha. This way u just take the 2 existing lines and connect them together so you don't replace anything at all and u still bypass the throttle body coolant.

Bump. Thanks Brian for doing the mod for me. I have not had a chance to actually plug in the laptop to it while im driving but I have noticed that I can touch the TB after a long drive and not get burned

I'm starting to think I'm going to do this mod. You still up to help me? If those 4way couplings and all that aren't expensive, maybe I'll do what you said. I tend to get lazy so I know I should just make it easy now or I'll probably take dumb risks if I ever go up to the mountains or something to snowboard.

Hit me up! I want to go to home depot but I'm still a little bit confused what tubing/caps/couplers I needed. THANKS!

It was only like 5 bucks for everything and like 10 minutes of work besides the rolling on the floor holding his hand in pain from burning himself haha.

I tried to look for the coupler at home depot and i couldn't find it so there would be only one way that i could do it and it would be the 2 coupler way.

I got the two way; couldn't find the 4way at homedepot. Anyway, I did it myself, was really easy, but I was dumb and didn't tighten the screw clamp tight enough before I started the car. Hence, coolant seeped out. Got on my the shift linkage area. I wiped it up and there was a lot of coolant on the ground; probably like 1/4 cup's worth. Is there anything I really need to worry about as far as electricals or sensitive stuff under the hood? none got on the battery or in the throttle body.

Thanks! Might go and pick up some coolant, but I hear you need to use honda's and they only sell it in giant 20 dollar jugs or something.

Lastly, I was wondering if that coupler would affect the flow of coolant at all, making it more inefficient as far as flow. Am I just crazy?
