Then don't. And VTEC kicks in when you're above a certain RPM.
What is simply happening here is the LED indicates when it goes into VTEC.

It is a link to another dude's post. I did not do this mod. I found a link to this guy's post, on another forum about the light.

I remember reading numerous posts here about people wanting to have a vtec light. Since that post is hidden and only has 1 response, i just decided it needed it's own thread. It would help R18 people get better fuel economy.

How is the post hidden? There is a whole thread on it. Why not just bump the thread?

Hey

Hey guys. I'm the author. Thanks for the feedback.

For those asking how it works- the objective is to signal when the econ cam lobes are in use. This is done by lighting the LED when they are engaged. I've also incorporated a relay that create a 'click' when they go on and off as well.

From around 1000rpms up to about 3500rpms or so, if you are very light on the gas, i-vtec will engage. This means that the ICE is operating in a mode where pumping losses are minimized (I believe because the intake valves are left slight open during the off-stroke).

I love this mod. I use it every time I'm in the car to tell when I'm getting the best FE.
