3M WW Mount Injection
I injected my motor mounts today, but needless to say it ended up being a little more difficult then orginally intended.
I started injecting the mounts and noticed that I was almost at the end of the tube and was only done with one mount. So I instantly figured out that the little pushy thing on the chaulk gun was FU(K3D up! So I took the tube out of the chaulk gun to find that the pusher at the bottom of the window weld turn sideways and the stuff was just oozing behind it. Not having another chaulk gun, I just decided that I would pack them like you do wheel bearings, so I just started fishing the stuff out with my fingers. Needless to say it got messy. FAST. Eventually I had to get a kitchen knife to get to the part of the tube that I couldn't get with my fingers. That didn't work all the way either, so I just cut the tube open and had a ball. Now my hands are semi-clean, and the mounts are filled and hardening as we speak. I had my wife take a few snaps with my phone, so they aren't the greatest but they show the insanity. Enjoy, I will update you on there progress and how they are once installed! Taking the mounts out...Thanks to lpa1984 for letting me borrowing his mounts while mine are down ![]() ![]() In the process of packing them with my fingers (Bad Idea) ![]() All done packin' ![]() Waiting for my hands to dry so I could peel of the window weld

Yes.
The mounts removed are the two torque rods (upper and lower) and the front engine mount. The driver and passenger side engine mounts (which aren't being removed here) do the work of supporting the engine assembly. So you can take all of these out without having to support the engine. |

1 tube should be able to fill 2 mounts with some left over. If you're just doing the front, 1 tube will definitely be enough. Although instead of the front, if I were doing it, I'd fill the upper and lower torque rods instead. That will distribute the force evenly between 2 mounts, and will reduce movement from engine torque the most effectively.

also, do you think i drive without the front mount for a day? i mean if i drive like a grandma? while the mounts cure Last edited by sh33t_0f_p4p3r; 06-15-2009 at 02:32 AM. |

And the tube looks like this when it isn't cut open Only thing I would suggest is that you buy a decent caulk gun because the $2 one at wal-mart sucks (as you can see) |

the reason they did the front one and not the rear 2 is:
If you look at other hondas they don't have a front engine mount, just torque rods top and bottom and side mounts. the k-series have this front mount... but it's weak as hell, it's nearly just for show... it's by far the flimsiest stock mount on the car. making it stiff will greatly improve engine movement. |

I plan on injecting the same three mounts that you did, and I know that I can get the top dogbone and front engine mount out for sure, but how exactly (tips/links) did you go about removing and reinstalling the bottom torque rod? Thanks!
Edit: Nevermind... I got all three off and filled (without resorting to packing them by hand. Lol), and they are now hardening in front of a space heater in my shop. I can't wait for them to cure so I can test them!
