hey so i injected a spare passenger's side, front and rear mount, but haven't touched the driver's side mount. any thoughts on this? my main motivation has been reducing movement of my dcrh (that i have yet to install). am i going to transfer an uneven amount of force onto the stock driver's side mount?

I did the lower and upper dog bone, and didn't do the front, I've repeatedly heard that the front mount doesn't do an incredibly amount of stabilizing and adds vibrations if it's injected.
Idk about uneven wear, but anything is going to help stop your header from thrashing around. The dog bones, which I think is what you're saying you've injected, are kind of the crucial bits |

I injected the rear, passenger side (the dog bones) and front mounts. Vibrations are definitely noticeable, but I don't mind them. At 1000rpm the vibration is significant, but otherwise I am satisfied. I may opt for swapping my front mount out for the no injected one I have, but I'll have to read more on that. The rear mount was a huge pain to replace. I had to grind down the aluminum bracket the mount fits in to. |

I had trouble with it too, but I used a pry bar to rock the motor forward. Also, someone pointed out that if the front mount is in place the rear mount won't go in easily at all because the motor is too rigid to flex and let the back one in.

I have one more tube left of 3M WW. Nevermind... just read remaining of thread.... by passenger, you meant the upper torque rod. I filled the upper/lower torque rod and front mount already. Still getting some minor frame knock from the race header. So the next step is to replace the primary passenger and driver mounts on either side of the engine. Saw your post, and thought maybe I would could find the easy way out. Last edited by bsc70808cc; 05-24-2010 at 08:08 AM. Reason: Nevermind... |

Yep. For me, I took out the top, front, then bottom. To take out bottom, I put a jack under the front mount support node on the bottom of the engine and carefully jacked the engine up in the front. This gave enough tilt to slide the bottom one out. Then lowered the engine back down onto a support stand while I worked on things. Putting it back together, just the reverse, lower, front, then upper. Had to some trimming on the lower torque rod because WW was a bit thick, but other than that it worked great.

ok let me clarify. i posted some bad questions/info: I filled the upper (on the passenger side) and lower (on the rear bottom of the motor) and the front (at the bottom front) torque mounts. the motor mounts are a completely different thing. when i was looking around my engine bay i was thinking that it didnt make sense to change the stiffness of mounts on one side of the engine bay and not the other (referencing my comment about a driver's side mount). the torque mounts and motor mounts are different things, with different purposes.
i dont know much about the actual motor mounts. one option is to buy stiffer torque mounts instead of messing with the motor mounts. i will say that after installation i like the feel of my filled mounts, except at 1000rpm, or with the ac on. that one brief second of rattle when accelerating from a stop bothers me. we'll see if the torque mounts break in, or if i need to swap out my front mount for a stock one again (as some have suggested) |

Front mount causes a lot of vibration, some people don't like it. I did WW on the dog bones and left it alone for a bit. Then I went back and injected the front mount with PU from home depot, much more violent, but more direct acceleration when upshifting.
