Rear speakers in 06 Civic GX (cng)?

Anyone have experience installing rear speakers in the 2006 natural gas Civic? It does not come with rear speakers, and the fuel tank may get in the way. I don't know because I haven't opened it up yet (can't find instructions to do this on this particular model) to see how much room is there.
Thx

Fit 6" coaxials in the rear deck of my '09. Not enough room for the 6x9's
I ordered a rear deck for the EX/LX with OEM speker trim for around $100. Local Audio shop cut-in the rear pan and installed them. It wasn't easy but it was necessary IMHO.

I put in 6" JL Audio coaxials in the rear deck last year. I ordered a Honda EX's rear deck with the speaker grills but I ended up just cutting the speaker holes in my existing deck. The grills that come with the speakers look better in my opinion.

Underneath the plastic rear deck cover you'll find that the round speaker holes in the sheet metal are actually only semi-circles because the bracing they added for the GX gets in the way of the speaker hole. I simply used tin snips to cut through that and complete the speaker circles.

Wanting a subwoofer but barely having any trunk space left, I followed the DIY fiberglass steath box sub woofer instructions on this site and fabricated a custom stealth sub box that tucks into the recesses in the back right hand side of the trunk.

Cutting into the rear deck (both the plastic and the metal) was really no sweat. Fabricating the fiberglass box wasn't too hard but it was WAY fun and rewarding.
