Front Tow Hook Install 08 Civic (Pics)

Follow the pictures - sorry these were taken from my phone




3/4" drill bit - $20 alone


1/2" drill bit






cut a rectangular shape to slip the bolts in

does it move back and forth or is ie tight? im afraid someone is gona try to step on it and fawk with it...

its actually really tight
the spacers didnt end up being big enough so i had to add extra washers to account for more space and its pretty tight.
i used it as a step ladder and i weigh 145 lbs.
i wouldnt recommend someone coming and bouncing on it though.
its attached to the bumper which is only aluminum so it can bend

whats the point in this? if it was used to pull the car it would probably rip right through the aluminum bumper...

I believe its a tiedown for race cars. we all have a front and rear tow hook, this one just makes it easier to chain the car down.

was thinking of doing this but kinda scurred that ppl might use it as a cup holder when i'm not around.

the bumper is aluminum though...the rear tow hook on our cars is welded steel...if his front hook was used to tie his car down it would rip through the aluminum
