Power splitter vs. greasy dash
Just got my '07 LX coupe a couple weeks ago. It's a really nice car so far. Anyway, I was disappointed that the LX only comes with one power outlet, so I bought one of those 3 outlet splitters. It originally had a plug that could tilt 90 degrees, but it only had two positions and didn't jive with the Civic interior.
Since I just got the car, I want to hold off on drilling holes, so I rewired the splitter to have a cord, and got some 3M Dual Lock (the velcro stuff that holds Ipass's and EZ Pass's). I wanted to mount it on the top of that cubby hole below the climate controls. Apparently the dealership used something to make the plastic greasy and I went through a few strips only to find out it wouldn't stick. Does anyone know what to use to make it so it can stick? Is alcohol or Windex safe? |
